My Twilight Night Turned Snow Day

(Picture taken at Floyd)
I am roughly 40 miles away from my home. I am doing my mom a 2 day favor while she’s away. For the past day I’ve become increasingly obsessed with Twilight. It’s more addictive than Harry Potter. I live in Texas. Things like tire chains and snow days are foreign concepts here. But in the small town of Forks, the setting for the characters in my book, these are not. Around 2am, still helplessly lost in the book and it seemed even more lost in thoughts about Edward Cullen, I took a short break to get a sip of water. My head still whirling with thoughts of sentences I’d just read and the wet, cold and gloomy scenery of the town. I casually peaked through the blinds, uncertain of what I was seeing but immediately I was filled with panic, confusion, disbelief and fear. I couldn’t believe what I’d seen. For a brief moment, I entertained the idea that I had been magically transported to a different location. I finally understood how Dorthy must have felt when she realized she wasn’t in Kansas anymore.
It’s more snow than I’ve ever seen in real life before. Strangely enough, before I left my home I thought about bringing a jacket…my cold weather wear jacket. And I remembered thinking to myself how absurd it would be to bring a heavy coat.
Snow Photos from a House Window
An improbable snow day and my severely under dressed avatar have inspired me. It’s time Pink Outfitters had jackets. I’ll start mine today.
